It's all about Proper Pressure

Nitrogen helps to maintain proper tire pressure (psi: pounds per square inch) longer in a tire
. Air leaks out of the tire at 3-4 times faster than Nitrogen and the water vapor in air will migrate through the tire at a speed of 250 times faster than Nitrogen.

Nitrogen Reduces catastrophic blow outs. The #1 reason for tire blow outs is under inflated tires. A tire can be as much as 50% under inflated and appear to be normal. Nitrogen provides a safer alternative.

Nitrogen Improves fuel economy. The average vehicle will see a 4% improvement in gas mileage:
- Passenger cars realize 2-3 miles per gallon gains (4% on average) A svings of 3 tanks of gas per year
Nitrogen is very GREEN: Proper tire inflation with Nitrogen reduces gas consumption and polutants into the air.  Tires last longer with Nitrogen and reduce the number of tires going into landfills.

Nitrogen extends tire life. Nitrogen provides proper tire pressure thus giving the driver optimum tire wear. Nitrogen is inert and dry and therefore prevents oxidation of rubber, rims, and valve stems.

Does your car have TPMS?

The Tread Act signed in 2000 states: all 2008 model passenger vehicles, trucks and light buses are obligated to have a sensor-based tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
If your car has TPMS, then you will want Nitrogen in your car. Air filled tires lose pressure at a rate of 1 psi per month and temperature changes will affect their pressure. These changes will cause those warning lights to come on in your vehicle. Nitrogen filled tires lose pressure at a much lower rate; 1 psi every 7 months and Nitrogen is not affected by temperature changes.

Goodyear, in a June 14, 2004 Product Service Bulletin #2004-09 stated, "Goodyear supports the use of nitrogen, as an inflation gas, in all Goodyear, Dunlop, Kelly, and Associate Brand and Private Brand products, based on the ability for the tire to retain pressure for a longer period of time. The use of nitrogen will not affect the tire warranty".

Michelin, BF Goodrich, Uniroyal, Riken, Cavalier issued a joint Technical Bulletin in November, 2003 which stated that, "Michelin supports the use of nitrogen on its ability to better retain pressure over a period of time".

Nitrogen is used by NASCAR, Formula One Racing, All Commercial and Military Aircraft; Police and Emergency Vehicles.
